Introduction to our approach

Accessibel helps everyone make informed decisions about their outdoor adventures.

Encouraging access to the outdoors

Our mission is to make outdoor opportunities possible to a wide spectrum of the community by providing quality visual, location based information.

Our philosophy is that you are the best judge as to whether an outdoor experience matches your physical ambitions or not. Therefore, our approach is to highlight areas of concern using imagery and objective descriptions. We do not make direct recommendations based on your accessibility needs, we simply provide enough information for you to make your own decisions.

A point of interest is made up of four parts

  1. 1. Green or Orange

This is the name of the point of interest. It could be the name of a mountain, a beach, a campsite or a car park.

  2. 2. Images

A single, or series of images that illustrate the point of interest. These images can be viewed by our audience, so they can be their own judge.

  3. 3. A Category

There are eight key categories that we assign the point to. Find out more about categories here.

  4. 4. A Description

This is an objective description of the key features of the point of interest.
