Programme of work
In most cases you will be profiling a selected location for, or as an employee of an organisation. A programme outlining areas of focus needs to be established and signed-off before profiling begins.
Pre-production: Create a team
Most locations will have a people responsible for the maintenance or communications of walkways and reserves. In most cases you will be connected with or within a local or central government organisation responsible for the area you are profiling.
Define the top ten priority locations
Each region will have a range of tracks and destinations that are popular, more accessible or are of cultural significance that would be a priority for profiling. The initial aim is to define the top ten priority tracks (or equivalent reserves) to profile.
Meet to discuss the environment
Once the priority areas have been highlighted, meet and discuss the locations in further detail. Often the beginning and end points of tracks within reserves are not clear. There may also be maintenance or features of the track that your need to be aware of. Highlight these, and other key features on existing maps.
Schedule a profiling plan
Every track and reserve is different. Scheduling is entirely dependent on the scale or length of track. Start with the more accessible tracks first, so outcomes can be review by the project team. Then tackle the longer or larger options.
Post-production: Moderation and go-live
Before being released the the public, all profiled experiences need to be moderated, reviewed by the project team and Accessibel Admin.
